From what I can tell, most of the hate stemming from Windows 8 seems to have occurred before they updated it. My main beef with the operating system was that they didn't even include a start menu button.

With the release of 8.1, the OS seems to be a lot more user friendly.

I love Windows 8. I have to say, I was quite disappointed when I found out the start button was coming back, I guess I got used to Windows without it. I also hear many people talking bad about Windows 8, I also wondered the same question.

I have the Windows 8 software installed in my work computer and I don't see anything wrong in it. It works perfectly fine, navigation is smooth, and everything looks good. The UI felt a bit different, though, at first. But I got used to it eventually. I haven't tried it out yet on my personal laptop, though.
