    Hi!
I often had the occasion to play with doing home-made hotspots instead of using a router, often because I lacked of enough wireless hardware to make what I wanted.

One of the most common I made is to do an Ad-Hoc hotspot to provide Internet through Wireless while my computer is connected through Ethernet.
The thing is, if you, you do an hotspot today, don't always use Ad-Hoc. Try also to make your wireless card an AP if possible. Why? Because AP is great to have the more range with more bandwidth. Meanwhile, Ad-Hoc isn't really good for bandwidth, but, each computer connected to it extend the coverage like a chain, and with that you can do a broad wireless network just because many computers are connected to it, instead to buy repeaters.
And you, what do you use? What weird setup have you done?
